The Irish Advocacy Network CLG (now trading as Peer Advocacy in Mental Health) is an island-wide, independent, mental health organisation led by people with personal experience of mental health challenges.
Our services promote recovery by offering peer advocacy, information and support to clients. Ultimately, we work to enable people experiencing challenges to their mental health to self-advocate; in other words, supporting them in having their voice heard, grow in confidence, and claim their rights:
To speak up, speak out and take back control of their own lives!
Shining a light to the four corners of Ireland
Established following two conferences that took place in successive years - Derry/Londonderry, 1999 and Ballybofey, Co. Donegal, 2004. Hundreds of people with experience of mental health challenges from the four corners gathered and subsequently the Irish Advocacy Network was established.
Its core difference is that all our advocates have self-experience with a strong affinity and a notable ability to deploy an authentic, deep-seated empathy while working with advocacy clients.
